Changes & Revisions-Giants Shape 2018 Roster.

Written by: Glenn Warciski

The Giants continue to change their roster like I change my socks.  Here is the latest 53 man Giants roster.  A major takeaway is only 10 drafted players remain from incompetent former General Manger Jerry Reese.  Needless to say, the cupboard is bare of young talent on this Giants team.

Getting back to Reese on his shaky drafting, let us look at how many players remain from Reese’s crappy drafts:

2007: Zak Deossie

2008: No players

2009: No players

2010- No players

2011- No players

2012- No players

2013- No players

2014- OBJ!

2015- Ereck Flowers & Landon Collins.

2016- Eli Apple, Sterling Shepard, and  BJ Goodson

2017- Evan Engram, Dalvin Tomlinson, Wayne Gallman

Giants GM Dave Gettleman and head coach Pat Shurmur are excising players Reese drafted.  This is a total makeover of this deplorable roster put together by Reese.  Going forward, the Giants will have quality players who are proud to wear the Giants uniform.

Other Observations:

Davis Webb was the biggest surprise cut.  However, if you follow the New York Giants Underground and Tony the Prophet one should not be stunned.

Like offensive linemen, the Giants are collecting  questionable quarterbacks. The latest is their 3rd round draft choice, Davis Webb. Since Eli Manning was drafted in 2004, the Giants have attempted to pick a quality backup.  In 2008, it was Andre Woodson; in 2009 it was Rhett Bomar, and in 2013, it was Ryan Nassib. The common denominator with all three guys is they busted. Webb will, too. Mark it down.

As I tweeted when the news broke about Webb, this is my take:

This is head coach Pat Shurmur on releasing Davis Webb: Shurmur insisted the Giants “do” have a plan for life after Manning, “it’s just not what everybody outside our building had predicted the plan was.”

According to NFL Network, the Giants will bring in veteran journeyman quarterback Matt McGloin for a workout.  So the Giants will continue to tweak their roster to get the best 53 players on the field as their season opens on September 9th.
